Adult education refers to training arranged and organised specifically for adults. Includes studying abroad excl. the year 1990 Only such training is included where participation was at least six hours.
Participants in adult education and training related to work or occupation
Labour force aged 18 to 64.
This includes such education and training arranged in adult education organisations that the respondent felt was related to work or occupation. Only such training is included where participation was at least six hours.
Participants in education and training subsidised by the employer (personnel training)
Wage and salary earners aged 18 to 64
Personnel training was defined as adult education related to work or occupation either partly or fully subsidised by the employer. The subsidy may have concerned either training costs or the time used for it. Only such training is included where participation was at least six hours.
Participants in adult education and training not related to work or occupation
Persons aged 18 to 64, excl. students and conscripts.
Adult education and training not related to work or occupation includes studying related to other studies, positions of trust, hobbies and other leisure activities and other general education. The definition is based on the respondent's own reporting. Only such training is included where participation was at least six hours.
