Description
Quality description
Having the status of a child means that the person's family status is that of a child.
In the family statistics children comprise all persons, regardless of age,
who live with their parents, or the spouse’s biological or adopted children,
but not foster children or children in the care of the family.
These statistics apply the regional division of 1 January 2018 to the
whole time series. Data for annexed municipalities have been combined.
Family type
Married couple with children
Starting from 2002, also includes registered partnerships with children and from 2017 also same-sex married couples with children.
Cohabiting couple with children
Cohabiting couples are formed from persons of opposite sexes aged 18 or over without partners living permanently in
the same apartment if their age difference is under 16 years and they are not siblings. If the couple has a common
child, the age limits do not apply. Persons of the same sex living together are not inferred as a cohabiting couple.
